Salam, I came across your name when I was browzing the works of Leonidas Zavaleta of Peru. I didnt expect finding anyone from SEAsian region in Zavaleta's blog .... and I'm from KL having about the same interests as you are. Selamat berkenalan.
Selamat berkenalan too. Thank you for dropping in. I didn't know Zavaletas mentioned me, or that he has a blog! What is the name of his blog please? Thank you.
The artworks featured here are entirely from my (part of) my collection. I enjoy having them and this is only a way to share them with the public/art lovers. I tell myself to stop acquiring new artworks, but.... A thing of beauty is a joy forever! Enjoy them and thank you for visiting.
At the National Gallery Of Australia, Canberra, Dec 2011.
Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)
I am enough of an artist to draw freely from my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.
I have been collecting paintings/artworks since 1981, of mostly European works. I bought my first Malaysian painting in 1998 and have since then established rapport with some well-known Malaysian artists. I enjoy promoting art and have done a few successful exhibitions in Kuala Lumpur. In 2002 I loaned 16 of my paintings by Malaysian artists to the National Museum of Peru in Lima for a one-month exhibition. I also do some paintings, mostly watercolours. One of my paintings is permanently exhibited in the Balai Seni Lukis Johor. Another one of my paintings was exhibited at the Balai Seni Lukis Negara Exhibition entitled TAMPANNYA BUDI in 2009. Lately my works have been exhibited at the KALAM II Exhibition and EARTH at Galeri Puncak , Shah Alam. Most of my artworks serve as personal presents to my friends all over the world and I am pleased with the knowledge that somewhere in various corners of the world a humble painting of mine is hanging on a wall....
" I don't believe that the artist ia an individual born with a specific talent. It's methodical. You have to learn the specific method to get into this art thing. You're not born with it. Anybody, if he or she has the interest, passion and hard work, can be an artist. Seriously!" - JALAINI ABU HASSAN
